I think I just realized why Gitmo is still open. If we actually brought the prisoners at Gitmo (and in other US-run prisons around the world but outside the United States) to trial in open court, in the Constitutionally mandated Judicial Branch, the cases would all fall flat, just like this: one acquittal, six mistrials. Not looking to good for the state…
